Connor had his first football game today. His team won 25-0. Connor is playing on the 2nd team defense at safety and on kick off coverage. During practices it doesn't seem like he understands what he is suppose to be doing. Much to my surprise, he played great. He was in on a couple of tackles and got an interception. After the game the coach was talking to all of the boys and had Connor stand up and praised him for playing so well in his very first game. I had to put my sunglasses on so no one saw me tear up. How embarrassing! We are so proud of him! All of the boys that he plays with have been playing tackle football for 2 years already so he has a lot of ground to make up. He showed us today, that he has it in him.
Before the game, the coach put eye black on all of the boys. Connor is refusing to let me take his off. He would probably go to bed with it on if I let him. I wasn't able to take any action shots since it rained the ENTIRE game.

WOW! Way to go Connor. We are so excited he got the football bug! I have been in mourning since it's Trav's senior year, however, Connor has given me a reason to breathe deep again.
And he sure looks great in that navy blue jersey! GO CONNOR!
